I'm Peter Theill — a developer and maker from Denmark. I build products that solve real problems in simple ways. Stemning is one of those products.

It started with a script. I was experimenting with AI image generation and wrote a small tool that could take a family photo and transform it into seasonal variations — a Christmas version, a summer one, autumn leaves, the whole lot. The results were surprisingly good, and friends immediately wanted it for their own photos.

That moment clicked: people don't want to book a photographer every season or learn Photoshop. They just want their photo to look like it belongs in that moment — Christmas, a birthday, Halloween, a wedding. One photo, every mood.

So I turned the script into a service. No venture capital, no team of 50, no corporate roadmap. Just me, building something useful and keeping it honest.

Stemning is a Danish word meaning mood or atmosphere — that intangible feeling that makes a moment special. It's the warm glow of Christmas lights, the buzz of a birthday party, the stillness of an autumn morning.

That's exactly what this product does: it takes your photo and shifts its mood. Same subject, different atmosphere. I wanted a name that captured that idea, and no English word felt right. The Danish one was perfect.

It's short, it's one word, and it's unique — you won't confuse it with anything else. The .ai domain signals what powers it under the hood. And if the Danish origin sparks a conversation, even better.
